Resilient together: where Pride, science and solidarity meet

Het symposium ‘Resilient together: where Pride, science and solidarity meet’ (Samen sterk: waar Pride, wetenschap en solidariteit elkaar ontmoeten) wordt georganiseerd door Think with Pride Universiteit Twente en Saxion.
Het zal plaatsvinden op woensdag 8 oktober, van 14:00 – 17:00 in de Burgerzaal van het gemeentehuis. Het programma bestaat uit 3 blokken van 60 minuten (inclusief een pauze) met aparte thema’s, waarbij deelnemers één, twee, of drie blokken kunnen volgen. De voertaal van de middag is Engels, maar vragen vanuit het publiek kunnen in het Nederlands gesteld worden.
14:00 – 15:00 ‘More power to you – empowering stories on why we still need Pride’
- Opening statement door Th!nk with Pride en Albert van Winden (director Enschede 700 and chair MKB Twente)
- Persoonlijke verhalen van LGBTQIA+ mensen uit Twente
- Sophie Spierenburg (she/they) – Exploring the needs and wishes of transgender and gender diverse individuals for gender-related interventions
15:00 – 16:00 ‘The future of Pride – is fluid’
- Jan ‘Amo’ Behrens (they/them) – Everyone is non-binary: The lie of binary biological sex
- Million Kassa Bekele (he/him) – The margins of queer asylum seekers in the Netherlands
- Q&A en panel discussie
16:00 – 17:00 ‘Engagement: writing the future story together’
Interactieve activiteiten en workshops, met keuze uit de thema’s:
- Constructing future identities
- The power of communication
- Innovation and entrepreneurship
De middag zal afgesloten worden met een borrel.

The symposium ‘Resilient together: where Pride, science and solidarity meet’ is organised by Think with Pride University of Twente and Saxion. It will take place on Wednesday 8 October, from 14:00 to 17:00 in the Burgerzaal of the town hall. The programme consists of three 60-minute blocks with separate themes, allowing participants to attend one, two, or three blocks. The language of the presentations and discussions is English.
